What We Are

FreePortal is an independent directory that connects people to official game and tech resources. We publish step-by-step tutorials, system requirements, and getting-started tips — and we link only to the vendor's official download page. No mirrors, no third-party bundles, no cracks.

Who Runs It

FreePortal is maintained by a small editorial team of writers and engineers who use the tools and games we cover. We started it because too many "free download" results lead to malware-laden mirrors when a one-minute guide to the official source would have solved the problem.

We publish under a team byline rather than individual names. If you need to attribute a guide or verify who wrote it, contact us and we will confirm the author and the sources used.

Our Editorial Standards

• Official sources only. We link exclusively to the vendor's own website (for example store.steampowered.com, obsproject.com, minecraft.net). If an official URL changes, we update the guide.
• Checked against primary documentation. System requirements, version numbers, and pricing are taken from the vendor's own support pages and release notes, and dated so you can see when they were last checked. Where we could not verify a claim against a primary source, we say so in the guide.
• Corrections are prioritised. Every page carries a "last reviewed" date. When a reader reports an error, we aim to acknowledge it within 48 hours and correct it as soon as the fix is verified.
• No paid editorial placement. No company pays to be recommended, ranked, or reviewed. When advertising is displayed, it is served separately and never influences which resources we link to.

What We Don't Do

We don't host files, we don't sell software, and we don't replace the official website. If a page says "download from X", the link goes to X's own site — not to an intermediary, a file mirror, or a redirect chain.

How FreePortal Is Funded

FreePortal intends to display advertising (Google AdSense) to cover hosting costs once the account is approved. Until then, the site is funded privately by its maintainers. Ad placement never influences which resources we recommend, and we do not accept paid sponsorships for guide content.
